Fantasy Football: The Key to Drafting a Great Team

Ok, so everyone who plays fantasy football automatically thinks that they have the best team ever.  Well I have a few words of advice for those who actually want to have the best team.  Oh and sorry to anyone who hasn’t ever played a fantasy sport before, because this blog will make little to no sense to you guys.
One of the first keys to having a great team is to draft running backs, running backs, and more running backs.  RBs are essential because they are the most consistent scorers in any fantasy sport.  They are guaranteed, on the low end, of at least 15-20 touches a game which gives them so many more opportunities for points than anyone one else, besides a quarterback.  Well that may lead someone to ask, “Well why not draft for a quarterback in the first round than?”  Here’s my reasoning to that question: typically there is only one superstar QB a year and the average points per week between him and some no name Joe QB you can pick up on waivers, is maybe five points.  That is minuscule compared to the weekly scoring difference for running backs.  The same goes for wide receivers, tight ends, kickers, and defenses.  Well that concludes my rant on RBs now onto some other words of wisdom.

Do your research on a week to week basis.  In order to have an opportunity to try and salvage a decent team after a not so great draft is know who to pick up on waivers.  Find out which superstar has been injured and pick up their replacement because usually it isn’t the player that is individually great, but it is the weapons around him that makes him have incredible fantasy numbers.

Well I hope I helped some of you fantasy newbs out and good luck in your future fantasy football experiences.
